What to order if you've never eaten Tibetan food??
Really liked the momo. We had the pork(steamed) and vegetable (fried). Spend the $1.95 and get the supinmandu, goes great with momos. The mothuk had a subtle yet delicious flavor. You can add hoisin, soy or sriracha sauce to enhance the flavor. Will definitely be going back to try other dishes.
MoreThis place is one of the most underrated. If you are brown get the spicy Thukpa Neuma. Tastes just like the Indo-Chinese noodles! The best!
MoreThe food is awesome. Very nice atmosphere. And the prices are great. Yes it is a BYOB!!! Can't wait to go back
MoreThis is a great place to go for lunch with friends. When the four of us go, we normally get 2-3 plates of dumplings and one noodle dish to share. Excellent service, too!
MoreThe restaurant was a nice place: fun atmosphere, beautiful furniture, really kind and helpful staff. The menu has more variety than I was expecting, with sections for both Tibetan and Chinese dishes. Personally, I got some fried Tibetan chicken dumplings and my date got steamed ones. The food is very meat heavy and a little low on spices, but it comes with a hot (read HOT) chili dipping sauce. Honestly it wasn't my favorite place in the world. I'm not likely to go back, but that's just because the food wasn't for me. It's a great little place and if it's your type of flavor, you'll absolutely love it. Hell, id recommended going just to try it out if you're unsure. We were in and out pretty quick, and it's fairly average priced for a sit down restaurant in Amherst.
MoreAmazing soup with a flavor broth (not over powering) and delicious dumplings! Recommend a thousand times over.
MoreAmazing food and great ambiance! Their food is also vegetarian (and likely vegan) friendly. There’s so many dishes on the menu I want to try so I will definitely be going back!
MoreWow! A taste explosion - our new favorite Amherst restaurant.
Really simple and delicious food. I ordered the Shapta which they spiced perfectly and the Momo's with the chili sauce was perfectly steamed and tasty.
MoreGood food.
The food is amazing! It was so flavorful and just well cooked in general! Really love the place and will definitely be coming back. My favorite dish was the Shogkok Momo, it reminded me of something that my mom makes and it really made me feel at home and happy. It's like a friend dumpling with potatoes in it. Definitely give it a try if you're looking for some comfort food. The Spicy chicken was also really amazing with rice!
MoreSo delicious! Easily my favorite restaurant in Amherst; definitely a must visit.
Best food I've ever had
Just went on a date here with my boyfriend. I can’t believe we hadn’t tried it sooner! We loved it. We had no idea what to order because neither of us have had Tibetan food before, but our waitress was so sweet and patient and helped us find something we both would like. We ordered one of the teas and for our entrees we got momos, a soup, and the steamed bread. Everything went so well together and the bread was perfect with the soup! I can’t wait to come back and try more combinations. Great place for a nice date night. Totally recommend! 💜
MoreI placed an order of some potato appetizer and I asked the waitress if there were any onions. The waitress responded and said that there were indeed green onions but that they could make them without the green onions. I said great! The potatoes came out with onions and the waitress realized too when she placed them on the table. I immediately asked if I could have the dish remade without onions and she said yes. She took the dish away. A few minutes later, after talking to some boss lady in the back (within earshot no less), she comes back and tries to convince me that I should pay for two orders of potatoes. I say absolutely not of course. She isn't convinced, so I say I will have nothing then. Hilariously bad experience. I would not trust food coming out of that kitchen knowing how cheap they are.
Morewonderful, cozy atmosphere. The food is fresh and incredibly flavorful!
It's okay. Nothing special.A bit too expensive for what they offer.
I don't know if it was the time that I visited the restaurant or if it's this is case every time... Service was ridiculously slow - 1 server waiting 8 tables, no one to help out. I liked the momo! I got the vegetable momos, which were really good, and it seemed like a popular joint, among not just school goers but also families. Would have loved to order more, hopefully sometime in the future.
MoreGreat food, first time trying Tibetan, was not disappointed. Will definitely come back the next time I'm in Amherst.
MoreVomiting and diarrhea after having dinner there!!! Strongly doubt the food is not clean.
MoreWe came here the my sister's birthday party. They were amazing!😍😍😍😍food was amazing...home cooked meal! Omg lol....on a cold day the seafood soup is amazing
MoreThe food was delicious - their fried rice was the best I've ever eaten!
This is an awesome little place!! Right in the middle of Amherst!! Great atmosphere!!! The food is awesomely spicy!!! The shapta was great!!!
MoreAwesome food, great service and kind people.
Good food. Nice people. Would come again
A big thumbs up. Nice, cozy, and excellent food. Very, very satisfied! Will definitely go again once I have the chance.
MoreI had such a great time here! I came on a Friday and the waitress there was really nice. I’m a broke student so I only got tea and an appetizer but the waitress was really sweet and understanding about it! I’m going again this weekend and definitely recommend it to everyone else.
MoreGreat food, nice staff. The Tibetan bread is awesome, definitely recommend trying it with the spicy dumpling sauce.
MoreThe food is outstanding! The service was also very polite. The momo are really fresh and flavorful, and the soups are really delicious. I would also recommend the bread! Be warned, though, as the portions are quite large and the food is somewhat heavy in garlic, chives, and green onion.
MoreTook my mom as she has never had Tibetan style food. Dishes were fresh and with depth of flavor that had us coming away feeling satisfied and healthy. Momos are amazing, spices perfect and fried rice arguably best we have ever had. Cozy clean environment with beautiful tables and excellent service. Yum and will return!!!
MoreDelicious food and excellent service. Had sauteed cauliflower and sauteed chicken veggies .
MoreI have never had Tibetan food in my life before but if you are a fan of dumplings asian cuisine, or spicy food you have to try momo tibetan! I went there last friday and the waitress is super awesome. Momo Tibetan offers a great variety of dishes and their chili sauce is amazing!
MoreLove this place!! The food is delicious and the service speedy and gracious. I have dinner here whenever I come into Amherst.
MoreExcellent dinner, I am slowly trying everything on the menu and enjoying it all.
The food is very delicious, especially the beef shabhaley. I also enjoyed the nice music while watching the rainy street...
MoreVery much enjoyed our visit. All was flavorful and well prepared, with a most gracious host. If we lived near Amherst, instead of upstate NY, we would be regulars.
MoreGreat surprise find! Never had Tibetan food, but the momo was really good. Very nice people who ran the restaurant
MoreTravelers, this is a good place to try in your travels. Food was delicious and stood apart from other restaurants. We enjoy eating here. You will too.
Moredelicious food and welcoming atmosphere. the spicy beef was delicious and my friend kyle sweat bullets! lmao
MoreBEST dumplings in the area!!! Great portion sizes for the price, friendly & attentive staff, and best of all--clean restrooms! Definitely recommend this place!
MoreFood is consistent and good. Staff very friendly. I recommend the egg drop soup and potato dumplings!
MoreThe shabhaley, the momos... so many of the dishes are delicious! Get the lamb filling! The beef tongue appetizer is fabulous, as is the zeebhu lhusha (a lamb stir-fry with cumin). Try the tinga bread...a spongy, fluffy wonder that is delicious dipped into whatever you order!Really reasonable prices, and helpful staff. I dream of these dumplings...
MoreGood food and it's not expensive and it's not in Norway. My mistake! Sorry!
Delicious and fresh food, great service!
Excellent food. A great introduction to Tibetan food. Lots of options, with and without meat. Very good service.
MoreThe wait staff is very kind and helpful, but feels inattentive at times. The food is very good and unique. Definitely order the Tibetan dishes (as opposed to the generic Chinese dishes which are also available). Be aware that almost all of the Tibetan dishes are spicy to some degree. My favorite dishes:1. ORGANIC LAMB SHA BHALEY2. ZEEBHU LHUSHA3. NYAM ZUMB KATSA
MoreI am addicted to the steamed bread and this crazy yummy beef tounge appetizer, it sounds weird but oh my god is it good. The service is great and super fast. I go as often as I can!
MoreWonderful 1st visit. Great food and service. Looking forward to returning.
The best asian restaurant we have been to in the US. And one of the cleanest.Inviting and heart warming including customer service. Well cooked organic lamb with flavoursome sauce.
MoreGreat dining experience. Food comes quick and hot. Love the momos! Would recommend if you are looking to switch it up and try something new.
